Ermis Ouzeri

Ermis Ouzeri Review

Lesbos is famed for its ouzo, so visitors must go to an ouzeri (ouzo bar) at least once—if not thrice—and there are few better than this centuries-old landmark located on the main thoroughfare between the old and new harbors. This old-school ouzeri has a selection of 15 types of ouzo, whose distinctive island tastes are nicely accompanied by some delicious "aperitif" mezedes such as stuffed courgette flowers and tsoutsoukakia (spiced meatballs in tomato sauce). Marble tables, hand-carved mirrors, and leather seats deck out this establishment, which has been serving locals and visitors since Ottoman times.
