Parthenis

Opened by Dimitris Parthenis in 1978, Parthenis now features designs by his daughter Orsalia, all showcased in a large Mykonian-style building on the up side of Alefkandra Square in Little Venice. The collection of cotton and silk garments, mostly in neutral colors, is very popular for the soft draping and clinging wrap effect.

Phaedra's Handmade Jewellery

Local Phaidra Apostolopoulou, who studied jewelry in Athens, has this tiny shop, where she shows her sophisticated silver and gold designs, and a line of punky and funky pieces for summer.

When he's not shooting for the acclaimed Greek film director Theodoros Angelopoulos, photographer Dimitris Gavalas is busy at his own gallery, which he decided to build in his father's hometown of Chalki. His work includes landscapes, panoramics, and conceptual photography.

Anglo-Australian expat artist Tim Elkington's small craft and art shop in the Old Town showcases Greek and other expat artists who are inspired by the beauty and culture of Greece. Elkington is a painter, but also sells traditional and modern pottery, cards, ceramics, drawings, jewelry, and clothing that have a connection to Greece.

Promponas Wines and Liquors

A large selection of their famous kitro (citron liqueur), as well as Naxos wines, thyme honey, and preserves, can be found at Promponas Wines and Liquors, near the Naxos Town waterfront. It has been around since 1915, and free glasses of kitro are offered.

Salachas

The small Salachas store is filled with linen and cotton garments of all-Greek materials and manufacture. Grandfather Joseph Salachas was a tailor in the 1960s, and once made clothes for Christian Dior and various celebrities. Today, his grandchildren keep up the tradition.

Techni

Techni translates to "art" in Greek and that's what the shop showcases—locally and traditionally inspired handmade arts and crafts. The collections include jewelry in traditional designs, as well as embroidery and knitted items created by women in Greece's mountain villages. Handmade carpets and linens are also for sale. The family that runs Techni comes from a long line of goldsmiths and embroiderers.

The House of Honey

A quaint little shop dedicated to all things honey. In hives high up in the mountains of Tinos, the bees make their delicious nectar from the wildflowers and herbs. Bee pollen, royal jelly, honey liqueur, candles, and wine from the owner's fields are also offered.

The Workshop

Walking into The Workshop you’ll immediately realize that the owner, Christos Xenitidis, loves two things: music and jewelry. His handiwork is responsible for the lovely gold and silver necklaces, rings, and earrings behind the simple glass displays. Look above his jewelry workbench to see a line of the guitarlike bouzoukias that he fixes and collects. Sometimes, his musician Mykonian friends stop by and an impromptu concert will form before your eyes.

In an old coffee-shop overlooking the sea, Trela is an eclectic collection of antiques and contemporary design pieces where modern ceramics, furniture, and jewelry vie for space with clothing and table linen.

Zonadiko

Head up the stairs off one of Mykonos's busiest pedestrian walkways to find Michalis Pavlos at work in his little leather workshop, where he creates leather belts, sandals, and purses. Since the late 1980s, Pavlos has been making his own goods and distributing them all over Greece, but he opened his own shop in 2014 to show and sell his work directly on his favorite island. The quality of the leather he uses is second to none and he takes bespoke orders, too.
