You are now entering the heart of the lush Tragaia Valley, where in spring the air is heavily scented with honeysuckle, roses, and lemon blossoms and many tiny Byzantine churches hide in the dense olive groves.

Considered one of the most charming little villages, Chalki has some of the most photographed lanes on Naxos. It doesn't take very long to walk through its bougainvillea-drenched lanes and maze of stone paths lined with gently refurbished neoclassical mansions that now serve as charming shops, galleries, and eateries.
