Though there's no view of the caldera, a slant of sea view is effulgently wonderful—add in the large freshwater pool, the spacious lobby with Italian design and wood-panel bar, excellent service, and location in central Fira, and the sum total makes these large, bright rooms a very popular option. The best rooms surround the beautifully arranged pool terrace, overlooking the soothing expanse from terraces and balconies. Food, served in the attractive dining room and
informal pool snack bar, is excellent, and the spa is one of the best on the island.

We stayed at several hotels in the Greek islands and of them all, Aressana had the most comforatable beds! They are huge (particularly by Greek standards) and the heavy doors on the windows means that you can block out all the light and get a great night's sleep. Sure there is a church next door whose bells will wake you on a Sunday morning, but that is hard to avoid anywhere. We also thought the service was excellent. The breakfast is really
nice with a decent selection of standards like bread, cereal, fruit, and eggs along with a variety of Greek dishes that changed from day to day. The pool is very nice, even if the deck area is a bit small. And while the hotel itself does not have a caldera view, a great place to watch the sunset (in front of the church) is within a one minute walk. Many other great things like restaurants and museums are also within a 5 minute walk.
