Nikos Iliopoulos' Avra restaurant recently moved to a spacious, shady garden in the center of town. The hospitable service, Greek-Mediterranean menu, and quiet ambience make it the perfect place to go with friends, which is why locals eat here. A good starter would be fried feta in pastry topped with sesame seeds, grapes, and rose petal jelly. For a main dish, try the stuffed lamb (it is not on the menu, but usually available). Then again, you could always have tortilla shells filled with veal, pork, or chicken. For dessert, the orange pie is famous. To find it, look for the sign for the cross street off Matogianni.
