The Cyclades Restaurants

Pervolaria Review

"An enclosed garden" is the translation of this restaurant's Greek name and, indeed, this family tavern is found to be shady and quiet since it resides underneath a lush pergola. A good starter is fava with carmelized onions and capers. As for main dishes, Perivolaria is best known for its pork shank flavored with sage and roasted in a wood oven; another top choice would be the handmade tortillini stuffed with local cheese, spinach, and fresh tomatoes. The homemade bougatsa(custard in phyllo) is an exceptional desert. Pervolaria can be entered from the parking riverbed or from a pretty back street.
