Kato Fira (Lower Fira) Review
The blocked-off Ypapantis street (west of Panayia Ypapantis) leads to Kato Fira, built into the cliff side overlooking the caldera, where prices are higher and the vista wonderful. For centuries the people of the island have been digging themselves rooms-with-a-view right in the cliff face—many bars and hotel rooms now occupy the caves.
