Fodor's Review

The name means "Old Story" and the setting is an old house with high ceilings and genteel murals, but a sense of exuberance prevails, largely due to the innovative cooking of Chef Mihalis Boukouris. The menu is devoted to mezedes (starters) and a meal made up of several should include shrimp ouzo with orange juice, pork tenderloin in garlic-and-wine sauce (the house specialty), marinated anchovies (which Boukouris calls "Greek sushi"), and spearmint-spiced keftedes

(meatballs). Cleopatra's Salad, with arugula and dried fig, reigns over the extensive salad choices. With 100 Greek wines, a drink may be harder to select. Luckily the flambéed banana dessert wrapped in phyllo and topped with a portlike Komantaria liqueur means you never have to choose between dessert and digestif. Palia Istoria is a bit out of the way, in the New Town—about €3 by taxi from the Old Town.
