The sleek style here begins in the modern marble lobby and extends through the, yes, spartan yet handsome guest rooms, with their contemporary, light-wood furnishings and soft, soothing colors. All rooms have balconies, wall-to-wall carpeting, and sparkling baths. The restaurant, Zeus, serves such specialties as arni araxobitiko (lamb with onions, cheese, red sauce, and walnuts) and a café serves lighter fare.

After looking at a dumpy domatia and the one hotel (the rather plain Byzantion) in Neos Mystras, we retreated to Sparta and were very glad we chose to stay at the Maniatis. The room was very nice with a terrific balcony-view of Mystras lit up at night. Staff were very friendly and helpful. For the same price that the Byzantion was asking we did far better here. If you've got your own vehicle, I'd recommend staying here over one of the places in Neas
Mystras. The entrance to Mystras is less than 15 minutes drive from the Maniatis.
