Kastro

  • Address: On top of hill above town, Argos

Fodor's Review:

The Kastro, a Byzantine and Frankish structure, incorporates remnants of classical walls and was later expanded by the Turks and Venetians. It's quite a hike to get to, but your reward will be an unsurpassed view of the Argolid plain. Nestle yourself into a ruined castle wall to guard against the fierce wind and ponder the mysteries of the long-lost Mycenaean civilization.
