Owner, architect, and restaurateur John Zagelidis has lovingly restored a magnificent old captain's house (the name refers to its date) with original furnishings and colors (white, olive green, and gray). For starters try grilled summer vegetables wrapped in Spanish ham, or smoked eel with watercress and arugula. Entrées include fresh fillet of sea bream with cherry tomatoes, olives, and fennel; and baked shank of lamb on couscous with celery and tomato comfit. For dessert try a pear cooked in muscat filled with marzipan, date puree, and amaretto. The wine list is extensive. Clearly, this captain lived graciously.
