Ordinary-looking from the road, this is Tinos's most pleasant hotel. Comfortable, family-run, and quietly efficient, it is for you if you dislike snazzy resorts and want to be out of (but still convenient to) hectic Chora. The fairly large rooms all have dazzling views (those overlooking the pool are best) over palms and olive trees to the sea; the bathrooms have bathtubs, a rarity in island hotels. Tinos's largest freshwater pool is surrounded by lawns, trees, and gardens -- not baking cement. The price includes transfers. The restaurant (¢) serves home-style meals prepared by the owners: to begin, try marinated raw fish fillets or grilled fresh vegetables. Entrées include chicken breasts stuffed with bacon, cheese, and herbs, or beef stew with wine and onions -- the menu changes, so ask what's available that day. The barrel wine is excellent.
