Fodor's Review

The 17th-century Town Hall (now the offices of the Mayor) was originally built as a Venetian loggia and converted in 1720 into Greece's first modern theater. A second story was added by the British before it became a grand town hall early in the 20th century. Note the sculpted portraits of Venetian dignitaries over the entrance—one is actually a lion, the symbol of Venice.
