English-Language Media in Athens

English-language books, newspapers, and magazines are readily available in central Athens; international bookstores and kiosks in Kolonaki and Syntagma stock everything from the Wall Street Journal to Wallpaper. Local English-language publications include the weekly Athens News, which offers a mix of politics, features, travel, and style articles written by both Greek and international journalists; the English-language translation of the respected Greek broadsheet Kathimerini, sold as an insert with the International Herald Tribune; Odyssey magazine, a glossy bimonthly on politics, sports, travel, and events in Greece and among Greeks abroad; and Insider, a monthly magazine on lifestyle and entertainment in Athens, with a focus on shopping, art exhibits, restaurants, and nightlife.
