A handsome house on a residential street, this pension is comfortably old-fashioned, with family paintings on the muted white walls, comfortable beds, hardwood floors, ceiling fans, and with balconies in many guest rooms that have views of Filopappou or the Acropolis—though the residential neighborhood (a 10-minute walk south of the Acropolis) lacks the charm of Plaka, it has many fewer tourists and the metro offers easy access to many of the city's sights. A congenial crowd of visiting students and single travelers fills the place. In winter, lower rates are available to long-term guests, some of whom stay on for a few months. Rates with and without the hearty buffet breakfast, served on the fourth-floor terrace with a view of Athens's sacred ancient rocks, are available.
