Hytra
Hytra Review
Don't let the understated bistro ambience fool you: this is one of the city's most fashionable eateries. Young Greek chef Nikos Karathanos has created an imaginative menu which has garnered many culinary awards and captured the attention of the international press. If you find it hard to choose, sample the range of culinary combinations—fish soup garnished with sea urchin, the classic lamb in egg-lemon sauce—with a tasting menu of 15 dishes. The wine list features an intriguing selection of vintages to accompany your meal. Every summer Hytra's faithful clientele pick up and move from the restaurant's postindustrial city setting (complete with painting on the walls from the Adam art gallery) to a different temporary home ever nearer to the sea; check the Web site for details of the latest venue of Galazia Hytra. In either case, don't miss the 3-course special degustation menu every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at lunch with the special price of 40 euros per person.
