Acropolis Select Review

For only €10 more than many basic budget options, you get to stay in a slick-looking hotel with a lobby full of designer furniture in the residential neighborhood of Koukaki, south of Filopappou Hill, a 10-minute walk from the Acropolis, so not quite in the center of things. Bright, comfortable guest rooms—some of them recently renovated—have cheery yellow paintings and relaxing earthly hues. Similar in color choice, the dramatic restaurant has daffodil-color walls and contemporary, scroll-back chairs in tomato red. About a dozen rooms look toward the Acropolis: ask for Rooms 401–405 for the best views.

Thank you Fodors for rating this hotel a Fodor's Choice

This hotel is a gem. Reading the Fodor's review, I wondered how t could offer so much for so little. It does. Smallish, nicely decorated, comfortable room with a large bath by Greek standards. Extremely pleasant staff who go way beyond in helpfulness in a low-key, not in your face way. THERE IS FREE WIFI IN THE LOBBY and this is a good place to talk to other travelers. The whole place is light and bright and stylish. I can't say enough. The Athens Select was a fabulous bargain and experience. My Greek cousin took all the info so he can refer his visiting colleagues to this hotel.
