The towers of this pilgrimage church dominate the skyline; much of its art and artifacts have been donated by local townspeople over the centuries. The church has notable Riemenschneider sculptures, including the famous Heiliges Blut (Holy Blood) altar. Above the altar is a crystal capsule said to contain drops of Christ's blood. There are three 14th- and 15th-century stained-glass windows in the choir, and the Herlin-Altar is famous for its 15th-century painted panels.
