Fodor's Expert Review Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum

Mainz

Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.

The wonderful collection here chronicles cultural developments in the area up to the early Middle Ages. One of the highlights is a tiny Celtic glass dog from the 1st or 2nd century BC. The entrance for the museum, which is in the Kurfürstliches Schloss (Electoral Palace), is around the back, on the river (east) side of the building.
