This luxurious hotel has four fine restaurants. If the classic French cuisine of the Schwarzwaldstube ($$$$) is too expensive, try either the international fare of the Köhlerstube ($$-$$$) or the Swabian dishes of the Bauernstube ($-$$). The Silberberg ($$$) serves gourmet classics and is open only to hotel guests. In the Köhlerstube and Bauernstube you'll dine beneath beamed ceilings at tables bright with fine silver and glassware. The hotel is a harmonious blend of old and new. The Bauernstube dates back to 1778 and is true to the original, yet the rooms, each of which presents a sweeping view of the Black Forest, meet contemporary standards. A small army of extremely helpful and friendly staff nearly outnumbers the guests. Pros: beautiful countryside setting, friendly and efficient staff, good choice of dining. Cons: expensive, credit cards only accepted in the restaurants, not in the hotel.
