There are countless hotels and restaurants clustered around the lakeshore, but for a quieter time and to escape the crowds in summer, it's worth heading further from the lake. This guesthouse is about 2 km (1 mi) inland, in the middle of a meadow. There's a swimming pool, a barbecue grill, and an outdoor chess set in the garden. Weekly dances are a feature year-round, and in summer the restaurant (¢-$) stages regular grill parties. Pros: quiet rural location, friendly service, away from the Titisee crowds. Cons: away from the Titisee views, some rooms quite small.
