Munich's Paulaner Brewery returned to its Leipzig subsidiary of prewar times and transformed the building into a vast complex, with restaurants, a banquet hall, a café, and a beer garden. There's something here for everyone, from intimate dining to noisy, Bavarian-style tavern-table conviviality. The food, such as Schweinshaxen mit Sauerkraut (salty pork with sauerkraut), is a mix of Bavarian and Saxon. The Paulaner beer is a perfect accompaniment.
