Saxony with Leipzig and Dresden Travel Guide

The people of Saxony, a once almost-forgotten corner of Germany near the Czech and Polish borders, identify themselves more as Saxon than German, and their somewhat indecipherable dialect is the target of endless jokes and puns. However, Saxon pride is rebuilding three cities magnificently: Dresden and Leipzig -- the showcase cities of eastern Germany -- and the smaller town of Görlitz, on the Neisse River. If you make your way from Dresden to the West, you can cut north to the Elbe River and the enchanting little city of Meissen.
