Hotel Kraft

Schillerstr. 49, Munich, Bavaria, 80336, Germany, Munich, Germany

Why We Like It

Reasonable prices and a solid location, plus that suprisingly welcoming 70s vibe and friendly staff, make the Hotel Kraft a decent choice for those on a budget who aren't looking for too many frills.

Fodor's Expert Review

Very 70s from the outside and the inside--drapes in the reception windows, and a strangely inviting wooden cabin-esque feel--Hotel Kraft is a basic option that's not far from the train station, the Oktoberfest grounds and the university. In a quiet neighborhood, it's surrounded by the university hospitals which means there's no through traffic, so guests can open the windows in the spacious rooms.

Room

The rooms continue the unintentionally retro vibe, with light woods, armchairs, a writing desk and full-length windows letting in lots of natural light. The beds are large.

You Should Know The facilities are basic: there's no fridge or coffee or tea facilities in the rooms.

Bathroom

Bathrooms are a little cramped, with showers over baths. There's a large mirror and lots of towels, and the shampoo comes in a plastic soap dispenser, which is certainl better for the environment but rarely a sign of indulgent luxury.

Lobby

The old-fashioned lobby area is suprisingly inviting once you get past the closed curtains, with soft armchairs and an old-school door lift. Staff are very helpful.

Tip Don't miss the cute little garden with plants and small chairs at the back.

Dining

The hotel's breakfast buffet, with the usual European spread of fruits, juices, cereals, bread, meats and eggs, is not bad.
