Renner Hotels-Carlton Review

The Carlton is one of three little hotels—all within a block of each other—that form a privately owned chain in the heart of the museum quarter and a hop-skip from the English Garden and Schwabing. The location is also really close to downtown, just north of City Center. The Carlton has a bit more flair than the other two (Antare and Savoy), but if the Carlton is booked up you have a good chance of getting something at the others. All three are clean and simple, have generous breakfast buffets, and are very fairly priced.

The location cannot be beat--close enough to the city enter to easily access it, but far enough for some peace and quiet. There is also a U bahn stop near by, as well as the English Garden. The hotel is certainly no frills and on the unattractive side. Most problematic for me, however, was the bed that was very small (and I'm a small person) and uncomfortable. Still if you're looking for something inexpensive, clean and a good location this is worth considering.
