Schrannenhalle

Fodor's Review:

On the south side of the Viktualienmarkt, behind the Pschorr tavern, is the Schrannenhalle. A former grain depot from the mid-1850s until just after the turn of the 20th century, the hall now houses numerous shops, bars, and restaurants serving Asian cuisine, sushi, traditional Bavarian food, and more. One vendor even serves champagne with Berlin-style Currywurst (sausage with curry ketchup and curry powder). Events range from swing jazz to rock-and-roll concerts. One unusual and welcome feature of the Schrannenhalle is its opening times: 24 hours a day, seven days a week there is always something open here, be it a coffee shop or the late-night Weisswurst (Bavarian white sausage) stand.

  • Metro: Marienplatz (U-bahn and S-bahn)
