BMW Museum

Fodor's Review:

Munich is the home of the famous BMW car company. Its museum, a circular tower that looks as if it served as a set for Star Wars, is closed for the time being. Until the reopening, the exhibition has been moved across the street to a building next to the Olympia tower. It contains not only a dazzling collection of BMWs old and new but also items and exhibitions relating to the company's social history and its technical developments. It's a great place to stop in if you're at the Olympia Park already. The BMW factory (Petuelring 130, Milbertshofen. 018/0211-8822. www.bmw-plant-munich.com. EUR 6. tours weekdays 6) is also nearby and can be toured on weekdays. However, registration for plant tours (which last a maximum of 2.5 hours) is only possible in advance using the electronic registration form or via phone. Reserve weeks in advance if you want to get a slot during your trip.

  • Cost: EUR 2
  • Open: Daily 10-8
  • Metro: Petuelring (U-bahn)
