Fodor's Review

Adjacent to Rosenstein Park, this wildlife park and zoological garden, with more than 9,000 animals in more than 1,000 species and around 7,000 species of plants and flowers, was originally intended as a garden for King Wilhelm I. The Moorish-style buildings are why it's referred to as the "Alhambra on the Neckar." There are two restaurants on-site and a less formal bistro-café with outdoor seating in warm weather. A modern Ape House opened in 2013, with gorillas and bonobos.
