Rooms with warm, sunny colors and modern style are brilliantly incorporated into this old brewery in the heart of Old Town. There are additional newly renovated rooms a block away, in a former student dormitory above the Zum Seppl restaurant, which both date from the mid-1800s. While these rooms also are sunny and modern, access via steep stairs and a walk to the main building for breakfast makes them less appealing. The restaurant (credit cards only accepted for groups)
is lively until well past midnight. House-brewed Scheffel's beer is the beverage of choice, although there are some good wines as well. The cellar houses the brewery (tours and tasting possible) and a weekend jazz club; in the courtyard is a huge beer garden.

Right in Altstadt, this "old building" houses a modernly designed hotel, brewery and restaurant. Rooms are small (esp. bathrooms)but clean, bright and cheerful. Hard wood floors and modern art inside contrast with traditional exterior. Restaurant dinner was excellent. Breakfast buffet set in kitchen was plentiful and tasty. Walk to river, castle, dining, shops. Excellent location. I would definitely stay here again
