Hamburg is one of Germany's most expensive cities, but the several citywide deals can make attractions more affordable.

The Hamburg Card allows unlimited travel on all public transportation (including express buses) within Hamburg and discounts on 160 museums, cruises, restaurants, and stores. The Hamburg Card is valid all day and costs €8.90 for one adult and up to three children under 15 and €20.90 for three days. The Hamburg Card Gruppenkarte costs €13.90 for one day and covers five people and €34.50 for three days. The Hamburg Card is available at tourist offices; HVV buses, vending machines, and service centers; many hotels; and the Web sites for HVV and Hamburg Tourism Office.

For €12, the new Kombicard allows entrance to Altonaer Museum, Archäologisches Museum Hamburg/Helms-Museum, Hafenmuseum Hamburg, Jenisch Haus, Krameramtswohnungen, Museum der Arbeit, Museum für Bergedorf und die Vierlande, Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte, Rieck Haus, and Speicherstadtmuseum over the course of two days.
