Hamburg Restaurants

River-Kasematten

River-Kasematten Review

There is no other restaurant in town that better embodies Hamburg's international spirit and its lust for style, entertainment, and good seafood. Once a legendary jazz club with performances by Ella Fitzgerald and the like, it now hosts a fascinating mix of hip guests. Sushi, spiced-up regional fish dishes, and exotic soups are the order of the day. The lunch buffet (weekdays noon-3) for just €9.90 is a steal; it's even better on the outside terrace. The ambience—black oak floors, leather seats, and redbrick walls—is elegant yet casual.
