Book NowGastwerk Hotel Hamburg Review
Proudly dubbing itself Hamburg's first design hotel, the Gastwerk, in a 1896 gas plant, is certainly the most stylish accommodation in town. The simple but incredibly chic furnishings reflect the building's industrial design, but are warmed by the use of natural materials, various woods, and thick carpets. The sophisticated bar was renovated in 2011 and all guestrooms got new flat-screen TVs. Both Gastwerk and its sister property, 25Hours No. 1 Hamburg, sit in an industrial complex that includes two grocery stores and general store. But it takes about 12 minutes to walk from the hotel to the closest subway station and there isn't much life near the hotel. The loft rooms with large windows, exposed brick walls, and lots of space are the most exciting accommodations in Hamburg.
