Justinuskirche

Justinuskirche Review

Höchst's most interesting attraction is the Justinuskirche, Frankfurt's oldest building and famous for its organ concerts. Dating from the 7th century, the church is part early Romanesque and part 15th-century Gothic. The view from the top of the hill is well worth the walk.

The Justinius Church is one of the oldest churches in Germany and is absolutely stunning inside. The columns have decorations that I have never seen before, and the organ dates from Baroque times. Sitting right on the Main river, the view from outside of the church is beautiful. Visiting hours are small, during the winter, just Sat. and Sun. from 14:00-16:00, but they do a alot of concerts here. Well worth a visit. The neighborhood around it is interesting too, small narrow cobblestoned streets, original "fachwerk" houses and 2 palaces along the riverbanks. Do visit Hoechst if you come to Frankfurt.
