A comfortable cross between apartment rental and hotel, ÏMA's aim is to throw its guests into the fray of Kreuzberg's hectic, artistic, multicultural scene. The loft apartments take up only one corner of this old brick factory complex; the rest of the buildings in the courtyard are live-work spaces for local and international artists—everyone from dancers and photographers to painters and graphic designers. Rooms are fairly basic in design, but large and light-filled,
ranging from the small "standard lofts," with beds up a narrow flight of stairs, to large "loft suites," with full kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas. The café on the ground floor serves vegetarian dishes like the Middle Eastern tomato stew shakshuka.
