ÏMA Loft Apartments Review

A comfortable cross between apartment rental and hotel, ÏMA's aim is to throw its guests into the fray of Kreuzberg's hectic, artistic, multi-cultural scene. The loft apartments take up only one corner of this old brick factory complex. The rest of the buildings in the courtyard are live-work spaces for local and international artists—everyone from dancers and photographers to painters and graphic designers, as well as the only European headquarters of the crafty online start-up Etsy. Rooms are fairly basic in design, but large and light-filled, ranging from the small "standard lofts," with beds up a narrow flight of stairs, to large "loft suites," with full kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas. The café on the ground floor acts as check-in and concierge, and serves up vegetarian dishes like the Middle Eastern tomato stew shakshuka.
