This intimate restaurant with white tablecloths is the city cousin of the Austrian village of Ottenthal, which delivers up the wines, pumpkin-seed oil, and organic ingredients on the menu. Curious combinations might include pike perch with lobster sauce and pepper-pine-nut risotto, or venison medallions with vegetable-potato-strudel, red cabbage, and rowanberry sauce. The huge Wiener schnitzel extends past the plate's rim, and the pastas and strudel are homemade. Offering one of the best meals for your money in Berlin, Ottenthal is a particularly good choice on Sunday evening, when many of Berlin's finer restaurants are closed. It's just around the corner from both the Zoo and the Ku'damm.

A lovely meal and plenty of other options on menu I could have tried. Nice atmosphere in a smiformal setting with white tablecloths and silverware but quite a relaxed style. Excellent

Slightly squashed restaurant but worth suffering the odd bump for food that is truly outstanding. Not cheap but you won't feel overcharged.
