Dorint Sofitel am Gendarmenmarkt

$$-$$$, Mitte

User Rating: ***** 5.0

Fodor's Review:

Built before the Wall came tumbling down, this luxurious lodging has maximized that era's minimalist look. In the formerly austere conference room, the designers added an illuminated glass floor that made it a masterpiece. The spa tucked under the mansard roof is suffused with light, thanks to the new, angled windows. Request a room facing Gendarmenmarkt, one of the city's most impressive squares. Decorative motifs are inspired by plant photographer Karl Blossfeldt, whose models inspired wrought-iron craftsmen. Toylike bedside pull chains set off a short tinkling tune to send you off to sleep.

Style in the Heart of Berlin

Beautiful rooms and a gorgeous fitness/wellness area in the best location in Berlin. And did I mention the fabulous hotel restaurant? Only complaint: tough to access high-speed Internet in the rooms.
