Fodor's Expert Review ULA
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
For those who equate Japanese food with sushi, ULA is an eye opener, since raw fish is just a small part of the menu at this inventive Japanese restaurant. Start with the appetizer trio and one of the unusual rolls, like seaweed wrapped in silky tofu skins with peanut sauce. For vegetarians, the sizzling lotus root steak is a satisfying main course, while omnivores might enjoy Japanese beef cooked at the table, or seared sesame tuna with wasabi mashed potato. ULA is also on a mission to introduce Berliners to the world of sake; the two-page sake menu might seem intimidating, but the gracious, well-informed staff is there to help.
