Why We Like It

As with other Soho House properties, the Berlin outpost has the requisite “cool” factor: a landmark Bauhaus building, edgy interiors, an exclusive rooftop pool and bar, a hip clientele. The spa and hammam in the basement and a state-of-the-art gym are also nice luxuries, while the lobby’s well-curated concept store stocks a fantastic assortment of trendy clothing, cosmetics, books and more.

Fodor's Expert Review

The Berlin branch of this luxury hotel-club brings the chic atmosphere of London and New York's Soho to the German capital. Inside the grand, restored Bauhaus building, the rooms are quite large, designed in an eclectic style, with all the amenities of a luxury hotel for a moderate price. The main draw, however, is that many of the communal spaces—including the city's only hotel rooftop pool, which has a magnificent view of Berlin's skyline—are open only to hotel guests and club members.

Room

Rooms range from “tiny” to enormous lofts and feature hardwood floors, 300-count sheets and eclectic furnishings. Studios and apartments have separate living spaces with a kitchen and dining table.

Tip If you really want to splurge, the three-bedroom lofts come equipped with DJ decks and speakers, table football, and a 70-inch TV screen. One even has a grand piano.

Bathroom

All rooms have walk-in rainforest showers, heated floors and exclusive Cowshed body products. Larger accommodations boast freestanding bathtubs and steam showers.

Lobby

The large, open, industrial-chic lobby has plenty of comfortable seating to chill out, but you can find guests and locals tapping away on laptops in the adjacent Store Kitchen, a hybrid café- concept store.

Dining

The House Kitchen restaurant on the club floor is open only to hotel guests and club members. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as smaller late-night menu. One floor up is the rooftop restaurant (also open in winter), which features rotating menus created by local guest chefs. The lobby-level Northern Italian spot Cecconi’s is popular with locals.

Drinking

The bar on the club floor, next to the restaurant, offers signature concoctions like the Soho Mule and the Soho Negroni. Come summer, the rooftop pool bar, with magnificent views of the TV Tower, is one of the buzziest spots in the city.
