As one of Europe's biggest cities and certainly one of the world's top capitals, with very distinctive individual neighborhoods and sights, Berlin is difficult to tackle in just one or two days. Any visit should include a walk on the Kurfürstendamm, the city's premier shopping boulevard. For culture buffs, great antique, medieval, Renaissance, and modern art can be found at the Kulturforum in the Tiergarten, and on Museum Island in Mitte—both cultural centers are a must, and either will occupy at least a half-day. Most of the historic sights of German and Prussian history line the city's other grand boulevard, Unter den Linden, in eastern Berlin, which can be strolled in a leisurely two hours, with stops. Avail yourself of the efficient transportation options, and you'll see more. Note that shops are closed on Sunday.
