Musée des Augustins (Augustinian Museum)

Musée des Augustins (Augustinian Museum) Review

Occupying a former Augustinian convent, this museum displays one of Europe's richest collections of Romanesque sculpture and religious paintings in the sacristy, chapter house, and cloisters. Built in Mediterranean-Gothic style and created around the same time as the Louvre, the medieval architectural complex is vast, and, like the Louvre, holds many treasures from Napoléon's conquests.
