La Maison à Côté
La Maison à Côté Review
Just a five-minute drive from Chambord in a tiny village, this country inn serves traditional French haute cuisine in a cozy yet contemporary dining room with a fireplace, exposed beam ceilings, and wrought-iron entry gate. Specialties vary with the seasons, including the foie gras with apricot, pear, and lemon confit, the Challans duck filet with caramelized endives and Szechuan pepper, or the lacquered cod with carrots and Orléans mustard. Save room for the surprisingly creative desserts. There's plenty of free parking in the church parking lot across the street, and a handful of tastefully modern rooms from €98 for a double.
