Le Cheval Rouge

Fodor's Review:

A half-minute walk from the great château of Villandry, this is a fine, comfortable, and casual hotel-restaurant. Since it's set on a major traffic route, book one of the quieter rooms at the back. The restaurant is popular with locals, who come for the surprisingly good and classic food and wine; menus start at EUR 18.50. Best bets are the terrine of foie gras, the calf sweetbreads, and the wood-fired-grill fare. Pros: only hotel in town; fine dining spot. Cons: lackluster decor; some rooms a bit noisy.
