Tucked away in the city center on a small leafy square 300 yards from the Loire, this is the closest hotel to historic half-timber Place Plumereau, a five-minute walk away. The white-walled, postwar building has some rooms with floral-patterned quilts and curtains, others in pastel shades. All are on the small side—room No. 31 is the largest—but spotlessly clean and offer good value, and service is friendly. There's no restaurant, but the brasserie Bure is right next door. Pros: friendly staff; good location. Cons: street noise; steep stairs. Corinne (owner)
