To learn about the heartwarming liqueur made in Angers since 1849, head to Cointreau on the east of the city. It has a museum and offers a guided visit of the distillery, which starts with an introductory film, moves past cointreauversial advertising posters, through the bottling plant and alembic room, with its gleaming copper-pot stills, and ends with a tasting. English tours are staged at 3 PM.
