Musée du Compagnonnage (Guild Museum)

Musée du Compagnonnage (Guild Museum) Review

Also incorporating the city's Musée du Vin (Wine Museum), these twin museums are housed in the cloisters of the 13th-century church of St-Julien. Compagnonnage is a sort of apprenticeship-cum-trade union system, and here you see the masterpieces of the candidates for guild membership: virtuoso craft work, some of it eccentric (an Eiffel Tower made of slate, for instance, or a château constructed of varnished noodles).
