Le Blason Review

Two blocks behind Château d'Amboise and a five-minute walk from the town center, this small, old hotel has welcoming, English-speaking owners, rooms of different shapes and sizes, an on-site restaurant, and, best of all, the gentlest hotel prices in town. As for the guest rooms, No. 229, for example, has exposed beams and a cathedral ceiling; No. 109 is comfortably spacious with a good view of the square. The on-site restaurant, L'Alliance (under different management; no lunch Tuesday or Wednesday), offers a three-course menu for €20 and four courses for €27, with scrumptious roast lamb with garlic; tuna with sesame seeds; and salmon carpaccio with mustard dressing. But beware: you must arrive by 8:45 for dinner.
