Masterminded by chef Bernard Robin, this is one of the Loire's top restaurants. Out of the gleaming kitchens comes sumptuous nouvelle cuisine: lobster with dried tomatoes or shepherd's pie with oxtail and truffles. Connoisseurs also savor Robin's simpler fare: carp, game in season, and salmon with beef marrow. Others delight in his opulent details—accompanying your dessert you may find a fairy-tale forest of mushrooms and elves spun in sugar. The four-course menu costs EUR 60, and there's a three-course weekday lunch menu at EUR 30. The dining room is traditional-modern, with cane-back chairs, and the best tables are by the large windows overlooking the garden. secrétaire de direction

We arrived in the area late in the evening on a brisk November night. Knowing we may be facing difficulty finding a place to dine we dressed conservatively and set out in the car with the view that the first place we found open would be our dinner spot. How lucky we were to have stumbled into this fine restaurant. Each course was perfect and filled with suprises....almost gifts to the pallate ..... Fodorits should certainly plan to stop in and enjoy the chefs creations ..... It will be the basis of future planning when I am in the region ... no need to leave dining up to luck anymore.
