Fodor's Review

This fully functioning monastery is worth the pilgrimage. You can find a lovely garden, replanted along the lines of the original 16th-century layout; the Musée Franciscain, a didactic museum tracing the history of the Franciscan order; and a 15th-century church containing three works of remarkable power and elegance by Bréa.

Monastère de Cimiez Review

This was a GREAT afternoon. The gardens were a treat to wander through and the views wonderful. Especially fascinating was the museum side of the monastery with a history of the Fransiscan order. That was absolutely fascinating. You will need a high school level of French as all the signage is in French -- well worth it!
