Five Hotel Review

Housed in the town's old post office, steps from the Palais de Festival, Five has a stylish decor reminiscent of voyages to the Far East: red fabrics blend with exquisite dark wood furniture against all white linens and bathroom fixtures. Space is maximized by the use of metallic vertical-blind-esque sliding doors, and no detail is overlooked (note the leather handles on the closet doors); amenities are plentiful too—a rooftop pool, personal shoppers, jogging routes, yacht charters, and dog sitters are at your fingertips. The view of Le Suquet from the Sea Sens restaurant may be dazzling, but it's nothing compared to dishes like the grilled scallops or the caramelized pork and bean fricassee with gingerbread. Save room for the buffet breakfast (included with price except during conventions); and don't forget to sample sweet treats from Jérôme De Oliveira (the World Pastry Champion) at Intuitions by J., located in the hotel.
