Jardin Thuret (Thuret Garden)

Jardin Thuret (Thuret Garden) Review

To fully experience the Riviera's heady hothouse exoticism, visit the glorious Jardin Thuret, established by botanist Gustave Thuret in 1856 as a testing ground for subtropical plants and trees. Thuret was responsible for the introduction of the palm tree, forever changing the profile of the French Riviera. On his death the property was left to the Ministry of Agriculture, which continues to dabble in the introduction of exotic species. The Jardin is in the middle of the Cap; from the Port Gallice, head up Chemin du Croûton, turn right on the Boulevard du Cap, then right again on Chemin Raymond.
